WOODLANDS ADVANCE TO HALF TIME SHOOT OUT QUARTER FINALS

Find out which school has advanced to the quarter finals of our latest half time shootout fixture

Last weekend we welcomed the Academy of Woodlands and Davington Primary School to Priestfield as they took part in our latest half time shoot out fixture.

The two schools experience began 10 minutes before the end of the first half when all the children were taken inside to go over all the rules, ensure they were wearing the correct clothing and knew the penalty order.

As soon as the half-time whistle sounded both schools lined up in the tunnel like professionals and once on the pitch they had a quick warm up, including short range passes and kick ups, before lining up in front of the Rainham End to take their spot kick.

Both teams started well scoring their first penalties, Davington then missed their second and third which left Woodlands in the driving seat to win the fixture.

The crowd at Priestfield gave great support and made it an amazing atmosphere for the kids, cheering when goals were scored and showing their appreciation for what turned out to be a really entertaining and close encounter.

A huge thank you to the two schools for taking part in this year’s competition, and we would like to congratulate The Academy of Woodlands on making it through to the Quarter Finals, they will take on Byron Primary School on the 7th March during the half time interval when the Gills face Doncaster Rovers.

We look forward to welcoming St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School and Canterbury Road Primary School to Priestfield this Saturday, when the Gills take on Oldham Athletic, for their first round fixture.
