EHMER JOINS GILLS ON THREE YEAR DEAL

Max Ehmer returns to Priestfield Stadium after agreeing a three year contract

Gillingham have completed the signing of defender Max Ehmer on a three year deal.

The 23-year-old centre back joins on a free transfer from Queens Park Rangers having spent time on loan at MEMS Priestfield Stadium last season and impressed heavily on a number of occasions, scoring once in the process in a 2-2 draw against Colchester in March.

He returned to Loftus Road in May but now re-joins the Gills as pre-season training gets underway and completed his first session on Wednesday morning at Beechings Cross.

On capturing his signature Manager Justin Edinburgh said: “This is a great signing for us; I’ve made no secret of the fact that I had wanted Max to return if the opportunity came up and we have now reached an agreement.

“Max was an excellent performer during his time at the club last season and he will only get better over time. I’m delighted he is back with us and look forward to working with him once again.”

Max added: “I’m really pleased to be back, I enjoyed my time here last season and played a lot of games.

“I am now looking forward to the start of the season and will be working hard to ensure I am 100% fit.”

Ehmer made 29 appearances in total during his six month stay, having also enjoyed loan spells at Yeovil, Preston, Stevenage and Carlisle.
