Keeper Tom Hadler back at Priestfield following one month stint with Tonbridge
Gillingham FC can confirm that goalkeeper Tom Hadler has been recalled from his loan spell with Tonbridge Angels. The 18-year-old rejoined the club last month until the end of the season, but the Gills have triggered a clause which will enable him to be considered for first team action.
Manager Justin Edinburgh said: "We need to make sure we protect ourselves and have the right amount of people around us between now and the end of the season.
"In the development games he looks like he could have a good future. Good reports have come back for him, they wanted to keep him but with the window closing we wanted to protect ourselves in case anything happens with Stuart or Glenn.
"Antonio [German] is also back from us now. He needed to go and play some games, he's got to try and get into the squad and then try and break into the team.
"He is no different to any other player, they all need to be patient and earn that opportunity and when it comes they need to take it."
Tom was back in action for Gillingham on Tuesday during the 2-2 development draw with Bournemouth. Read the thoughts of Mark Patterson here.
