SEVEN OFFERED NEW GILLS DEALS

The club have offered seven players new deals to remain at MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Gillingham FC have offered new contracts to seven players.

Michael Freiter and Tom Hadler have been given one year extensions while Greg Cundle, Mitchell Dickenson and Callum Emptage have all been offered one year pro deals.

Josh Hare and Aaron Millbank have been offered six month extensions as they look to prove their fitness following respective injuries.

Jack Sellens will be invited back for pre-season training as he looks to recover from a broken leg.

However we regret to announce that the following six players will not have their contracts renewed at the end of the season:

Dan Bent
Aidan Blanchard
Devante McKain
Mahlon Romeo
Josh Staunton
Charlie Webster

Manager Justin Edinburgh said: "We would like to wish everyone the best of futures in their Football careers, it is never an easy decision but we have to be fair to the players in their development.

"We thank them for their hard work and effort while they have been at the club.

"With the ones that have got a yes is always a pleasing factor because that's the good part of the job when telling people they've got a deal.

"For them it's the start of the hard work, its well earned and I look forward to working with them."

Regarding Hare, Millbank and Sellens the Manager believes giving them the chance to impress is a fair decision.

He added: "We've tried to be fair with everyone and we've spoken to the medical department and will give them adequate chance to prove their fitness.

"Jack will be invited back for pre-season and see if he can earn himself a contract."

The club would like to place on record its gratitude to the above players and we wish them well for the future.
