Gills centre-back John Egan voted Player of the Year by the club's supporters

John Egan has been named Gillingham Football Club's `Player of the Year` for the 2014-15 season.

Egan was presented with his trophy at the club's annual end of season awards dinner on Sunday evening.

The centre-back has featured over 50 times for the club this season and scored five goals - one of which being the equaliser in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Notts County.

Bradley Dack was named second in the main award with Cody McDonald third.

John said: "I feel extremely proud and it's a great moment for me and my family.

"I'd like to thank the lads because without them I couldn't have produced what I have on the pitch this season.
