Katie Startup has been selected to represent the England Girls U17 squad in a friendly tournament next month
Congratulations to Girls Centre of Excellence U17s GK, Katie Startup who has been selected for England Women’s U17 Friendly Tournament in Germany next month.
Last month Katie helped the squad progress to the Elite Round of the UEFA qualifiers after they topped their group in the first stage with impressive wins over Croatia and Estonia and finishing with a draw against Poland.
Katie will be joining up with the rest of the squad in December as they fly out to Duisburg before playing against Germany and France.
U17s Manager Pete Sayer said: “We are really proud that Katie has been called-up for this tournament, Katie has been excellent this season and continues to impress in every fixture she plays.”
Katie has been with the Gills since she was an U13 and has been a regular in the England set-up in recent seasons, she is a true professional and ambassador for the club and is always working hard to improve her game. We are all extremely proud of her and wish her and the U17s the very best of luck in the tournament.
