Striker set to be out for up to 10 weeks after suffering ankle injury
Justin Edinburgh has delivered an update on the injury suffered by striker Luke Norris.
The forward was substituted during the first half against Crewe earlier in the month and looks set to sit out until early December at the earliest.
He said: “Luke went and saw the Consultant on Tuesday and he’s given a time span of anywhere between six to 10 weeks, so that’s something we will have to look at and maybe look to the loan market to strengthen.
“He’s taken a part of the ligament off the bone; it’s a big injury and a blow to us. He’s a pivotal part of the success we have had so far and I think we’ve missed him in the last couple of games.”
Cody McDonald looks the most likely to take his place, but he is not yet fully fit as Edinburgh explained:
“Cody isn’t quite 100% which leaves us a bit short but we’ve spoken to the Chairman and are looking into the market but it needs to be the right personnel that come into the group because the dynamics and chemistry are good.
“Its been a real stop/start to the campaign for him and he’s been getting a bit frustrated but we are hopeful we can tick him along and get him back to full fitness because when he is he will be a top player, and in the second half to seasons he comes strong.”
