WRIGHT APPEAL UNSUCCESSFUL

Gills midfielder unavailable for three games as club's appeal proves unsuccessful

Josh Wright will be banned for three first team games after the club's appeal against his sending off on Tuesday proved unsuccessful.

The midfielder was given a straight red card for what was deemed to be a dangerous tackle on Scunthorpe striker Paddy Madden.

Justin Edinburgh said after the game that the club would appeal against the decision, however his dismissal has been upheld and he will now be unavailable until mid November at the earliest.

In his programme notes the Manager said: "We lose him for three games which is a big blow because he’s been consistently good since he’s come into the team.

"Like I always say though, someone’s misfortune is somebody else’s gain and whoever comes in we will be strong."
