St Margaret's COE Junior School march on the Semi-Finals of the Lawtech HTSO at the Gills.
Our recent home fixture against Coventry City saw us welcome the teams from St Margaret’s COE Junior School and St Mark’s COE Primary School to MEMs Priestfield Stadium for the third quarter-final.
The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal. The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure meaning that they both had to think and act fast.
The Shootout got off to a thrilling start with St Mark’s starting the stronger, gaining the early advantage with a confident strike and then a fantastic save from their keeper. St Margaret’s came back strong and after some great strikes and impressive saves they were back in the tie. St Margaret’s continued to pile the pressure on St Mark’s and took the upper hand to take the lead and with their final penalty taker calmly slotting the ball in to the net they secured their spot in the semi-finals.
A massive thank you to both teams for their brilliant efforts and congratulations to St Margaret’s on progressing to this seasons Semi-Finals.
Our next Half-Time-Shoot-Out competition will take place on Tuesday 12th April when Gillingham face Walsall at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium.
