GILLS LADIES LOSE TO A RESILIENT CAMBRIDGE TEAM
Gillingham Ladies welcomed Cambridge Utd LFC to Chatham Town FC in the FA Women’s Premier League on Sunday, April 17. Manager Jack Wheeler made two changes with Ashleigh Loosemore and Shannon Redhouse returning to the starting lineup.
Gills Ladies started the game brightly with chances for Kallie Balfour in the opening minutes, Cambridge defended resiliently throughout the match and were mainly playing on the counter attack. Gillingham had chances to take the lead but it was Cambridge that scored from a corner mid-way through the second half. Gills Ladies dominated possession in the last quarter of the match but were unable to find the equaliser and the game ended 1-0 to Cambridge Utd LFC.
Gills Ladies next welcome Ipswich LFC in the FA Women’s Premier League on Sunday, April 24. Good luck girls.
OPPORTUNITY TO BE MATCH DAY MASCOTS FOR GILLS LADIES
The Kent Girls and Ladies League have joined forces with Gills Ladies to offer all affiliated clubs within the Kent Girls and Ladies League a unique opportunity to be Gills Ladies match day mascots.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Gravesham Girls U10s to be match day mascots for our match against Cambridge LFC on Sunday. We hope all the girls enjoyed the experience.
We will be welcoming Kings Hills Girls U9s to be match day mascots for our next match against Ipswich Town LFC on Sunday, April 24. We look forward to seeing you all.

GIRLS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
Our season is nearly at an end with only one training week left at the Centre before we see our End of Season Presentation night at the start of May. All the squads have been voting for their Players Player of the Season and it will be fantastic to see who they have chosen.
FA GIRLS’ FOOTBALL WEEK
Next week the Community Trust coaches will be out and about at local Primary Schools delivering Girls Only taster sessions to promote and increase participation. Our Girls Academy will also be taking part in a Football Festival taking place at AFC Wimbledon.
