St Margaret's COE Junior School claim victory in the club's latest Half-time Shoot-out fixture.
Our recent home fixture against Barnsley saw Davington Primary School face St Margaret’s COE Junior School in the last fixture of Round One.
The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal. The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure meaning that they both had to think and act fast.
As half-time approached both teams stood at the side of the pitch eagerly waiting for the half-time whistle to blow and they could get their fixture underway.
The shoot-out got off to a great start with both teams scoring from their first two chances with fantastic efforts. St Margaret’s then scored with their next and a great save from their keeper denied Davington and put the pressure on. St Margaret’s keeper was in fine form as he continued to deny the young strikers from Davington and with St Margaret’s players holding their nerve and converting their efforts an impressive victory was secured.
Thank you to both teams for their brilliant efforts and congratulations to St Margaret’s Junior School who now progress to the Quarter Finals.
Our next Half-Time-Shoot-Out will be see first quarter final between reigning champions Featherby Junior School and Byron Primary School take place when the Gills face Chesterfield February 27.
