Weekly update of what has been happening at the club......

New addition to Gills Ladies

This week Gills Ladies welcomed a new addition to the club, Lauren Davis who has joined from Millwall Lionesses after a year away from the club. Lauren will be a great addition to the squad.

Gills Ladies cup run comes to an end

Gillingham Ladies welcomed Tottenham Hotspur Ladies to Chatham Town FC in the FA WPL Plate on Sunday, February, 7. This is the second time the teams have met this season, the first match ended with a 5-3 win for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies in the Ryman League Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies started well and early in the first half were awarded a free kick that they converted with a great shot to take the lead (0-1). Similar to the match against Newcastle Utd WFC the previous week, Gills Ladies were unable to capitalise on the chances they created. Unfortunately the score ended 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur Ladies and Gills Ladies run in the FA Women’s Cup came to an end.

Girls Centre of Excellence

U17s Goalkeeper Katie Startup is currently in the USA representing England U17s in an NTC Invitational, which sees them play the USA, Japan and South Korea, another great experience for Katie.

Unfortunately our games against Oxford Utd and Hampshire FA were postponed due to waterlogged pitches and the squads aren’t back in action until March 20, when they play Arsenal COE.

Next month will see our last FREE Coaches Open Evening of the season. Technical Director Mark Patterson will host the evening and invites coaches to watch him put on a session with our U13s on ‘Pressing and Regain’. Before the session Mark will talk through the points of the session and the outcomes expected and giving coaches the opportunity to ask questions.
