GILLS SIGN CHICKSEN ON LOAN

Justin Edinburgh has bolstered his defensive options ahead of Saturday's game against Blackpool

Gillingham have signed full back Adam Chicksen on loan from Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion until February 23.

The 24-year-old returns to MEMS Priestfield Stadium for a second spell having played for the club on four occasions during the 2014/15 season.

Adam began his career at MK Dons and played over 80 games before agreeing a three-year deal at the AMEX Stadium in the summer of 2013.

He has made two appearances for the Seagulls this season but the majority of his playing time has been spent away from Brighton with loan spells at both Leyton Orient and Fleetwood Town.

Adam is eligible for Saturday's away fixture with Blackpool.

Justin Edinburgh said: "We are delighted to have signed Adam, he is somebody we have kept an eye on for a while and are pleased we had the opportunity to bring him here.

"He will add quality to our squad, he's a strong defender and we look forward to working with him."
