SAMUEL EXTENDS STAY AT PRIESTFIELD

Dominic Samuel's loan deal from Reading has been extended until late January

Gillingham have agreed to extend the loan of striker Dominic Samuel until January 28 from Championship side Reading.

The 21-year-old forward, who initially joined the club in mid-November, has scored four goals in nine appearances including a brace against Millwall at the New Den on December 19.

His deal expired following Saturday's 3-0 win over Bradford but he will now stay at MEMS Priestfield Stadium for a further three weeks.

On hearing the deal was complete Manager Justin Edinburgh said: "We are delighted to have extended his services, Dom is playing very well here and scored some important goals.

"We give Reading feedback on how he is doing, they can see he's improving but they are also mindful of the fact he needs to play."
