AARON MORRIS UPDATE

Gills midfielder suffers training injury

Gillingham Football Club can today report that midfielder Aaron Morris has suffered an injury in training.

The 26-year-old Welshman, who recently signed a two-year contract extension with the club, picked up the injury during the Gills' pre-season preparations.

Morris made 32 starts and four substitute appearances for the club last season, with his versatility, commitment and passion making him a fan favourite.

“Losing Aaron is a big blow for the club,” said manager Justin Edinburgh. “On the pitch, his performances have spoken for themselves. He brings immense quality to the team, and the way he can seamlessly and unselfishly move to play in a number of positions says everything about his talent and his professionalism.

“We’ll do everything we can as a club to assist him back to fitness, and we hope to see him wearing the Gills shirt in a competitive fixture again as soon as possible.”
