Gills squad's week-long visit to northern France a success
Gillingham's pre-season preparations continued this week, with Justin Edinburgh's first-team squad training in the northern French town of Le Touquet.A popular destination for the club in recent years, the team arrived on Monday morning and have undertaken 15 hours of gruelling physical work since as the season opener against Southend United draws closer.
Wednesday's double session featured a 90-minute bike ride, while Tuesday - considered by many players as the hardest day - totalled nearly five hours. The players have undertaken a mix of gym, strength and conditioning and ball work during their time across the Channel.

The club have attracted plenty of attention during the trip, with local residents and visitors to the idyllic town keen to catch a glimpse of Kent's only EFL club in action.
French top division side LOSC Lille are based at the same hotel this week, and have trained in close proximity to the Gills.
Prior to heading home on Saturday morning, the Gills beat local side AS Etaples 2-0 in a friendly match on Friday evening. New signing Lee Martin opened the scoring early on with a neat finish, before his fellow summer recruit Mark Byrne blazed home a penalty five minutes from time to secure the victory.
First-team players such as Josh Wright, Bradley Dack, Stuart Nelson, Cody McDonald all played 45 minutes of the game each.
