PRE-SEASON TRAINING UPDATE

Gills players return to Beechings Cross as preparations for the new season continue

Day three of pre-season training on Friday saw the Gillingham first-team and academy squads return to Beechings Cross for the first time this summer.

Under the guidance of manager Justin Edinburgh, his assistant David Kerslake and Adam Roche, the club's Head of Sports Science and Medicine, the players faced a challenging 90-minute session.

Summer signings Mark Byrne and Billy Knott, along with neo-pro Darren Oldaker, joined their team-mates for a mix of physical drills and ball work.

The session, which followed two days of testing at the University of Kent's School of Sport & Exercise Science, ended with a 2,400-metre run.
