Welshman agrees a new two-year deal
Gillingham FC midfielder Aaron Morris has today signed a new contract at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium that will keep him at the club for a further two seasons.
The 26-year-old Welshman, who joined the Gills on a free transfer from AFC Wimbledon in May 2014, has made 54 starts and eight substitute appearances to date for the club.
His versatility has seen him become a fan favourite: in a six-week period last season, he played at centre-back, right-back, centre-midfield and right-midfield.
“I’m delighted to have pledged my services to the club for the next two years,” he said. “It’s nice to get recognition for what I’ve contributed over the past couple of seasons.
“I hope the fans are pleased with the news, too – I love the club, the supporters have really taken to me, I get a lot of affection on Twitter. I feel we’re moving forward and it’s an exciting time to be a part of this team.
“I can’t wait to get back playing again now. It’s nice having a break over the summer, but that itch to get back to it hit me a couple of weeks ago!”
Morris becomes the latest player to sign a new deal at the club, following goalkeeper Tom Hadler and midfielders Emmanuel Osadebe and Darren Oldaker.
