MAPLESDON NOAKES CAREERS DAY

As we build up to National Apprenticeship Week we visited The Maplesdon Noakes School to take part in their Year 8 Careers Day.

Medway Youth Trust invited Apprenticeship Co-ordinator, Freddie Wilson to participate in the annual Year 8 Career Choices Day at The Maplesdon Noakes School in Maidstone. On the day Freddie delivered twelve 30 minute practical sessions, with each group taking part in football tournaments followed by a short talk about the various opportunities we have at the Trust and Club.

Head of Trust Careers at Medway Youth Trust, Rose Carter stated “I cannot express how grateful I am to the Trust for their help with the day. The students stated that they really enjoyed the interactive sessions, plus learning about different career paths.”

Careers and Higher Education Officer at The Maplesdon Noakes School, Su Mortley added “We ran a full day of career based activities for our Year 8 students and we were pleased that GFC Community Trust supported us by running one of the sessions for us.  It was hugely popular and enabled our students to talk to club professionals about the career opportunities within the sport.”

Wilson commented “It was a fantastic chance to talk to the students and hopefully highlight some career paths they may never have considered and opportunities that we have at the club, including our Apprenticeship programme. It’s always great to get out and meet young students and offer guidance and advice on decisions that will shape their future.”
