Weekly update of what has been happening at the club this week....
Gills Ladies held by the Eagles
Gillingham Ladies returned to home action in the FA Women’s Premier League for the first time since September and welcomed Crystal Palace Ladies to Chatham Town FC. A late penalty denied Gills Ladies all three points as they were held to a draw by Crystal Palace Ladies.
Gills Ladies started the game on the front foot and took the lead mid way through first half when a free kick was awarded on the edge of the penalty box. Emma Tune placed the ball and curled a brilliant shot over the wall and into the top left corner of the net. Crystal Palace Ladies started the second half strongly, however, it wasn’t until late in second half that they leveled the score through a penalty. Both teams tried to find a winner but the game ended 1-1.
Gills Ladies next match is at home to Denham Utd LFC in the FA Women’s Premier League on Sunday, March 6 and we will be showing our support for International Women’s Day (taking place on Tuesday, March 8).
We look forward to seeing our sponsors and supporters at Chatham Town FC on Sunday.
