Midfielder wins five awards at club's end-of-season dinner on Sunday night
Bradley Dack won five awards, including the headline Player of the Year prize, at Gillingham Football Club’s annual end of season dinner on Sunday night.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who won the League One Player of the Year prize earlier this month at the FL Awards, also claimed the Young Player, Players’ Player, MEMS Player of the Year and PFA Community Champion trophies during the event held at the Priestfield Stadium.
In the main award, voted for by Gillingham’s passionate supporters, Josh Wright was runner-up, with goalkeeper Stuart Nelson third.
Defenders John Egan and Max Ehmer were also both rewarded: the former claimed the Away Supporters’ Player of the Year, with Ehmer being presented with the Chairman’s Cup.
Emmanuel Osadebe’s solo effort in November’s 3-1 victory over Bury earned him the Goal of the Season award, narrowly ahead of Rory Donnelly’s chip in the Gills’ 5-1 demolition of Fleetwood Town. Bradley Dack’s curler against Sheffield United and Doug Loft’s long-range effort in the defeat to Oldham Athletic placed joint third in the public vote.
Dave Taylor, who has worked tirelessly co-ordinating the Gills’ Club Class coach travel service for numerous years, was honoured with the Elliott Scally Cup for special achievement.
Goalkeeper Courtney Shanley was voted the Ladies’ Young Player of the Year, with Rachel Ahern being crowned the Ladies’ Player of the Year.
