TEAM NEWS

Gills manager Justin Edinburgh has no fresh injury concerns following Saturday’s victory at Walsall, with Lee Martin and Aaron Morris the only remaining long-term absentees.

Edinburgh confirmed, however, that Jonathan Bond, Chris Herd, Frank Nouble and Bradley Garmston are unlikely to make the traveling squad.

, Edinburgh said he was pleased with his team’s character after being pegged back just five minutes after taking the lead.  2-1 victory at the weekendSpeaking after the

“We finished the first half strongly, but in the second half there was times when we  were up against it. That’s what we needed; to show that character,” said Edinburgh.

THE OPPOSITION

United beat Coventry City 4-1 on Saturday at the Kassam Stadium, ending a run of four games without a win.

U’s pair Wes Thomas and Joe Skarz were taken to hospital in the victory against the Sky Blues, and may be unavailable for the visit of Gillingham.

Michael Appleton’s men sit just one place and one point behind the Gills, in 16thplace in the Sky Bet League One table, meaning a win would see them leapfrog their opponents on Tuesday evening.

LAST TIME WE MET

The teams met at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium back in 2013, when United ran out 1-0 winners thanks to Alfie Potter’s late goal.

There have only been four goals in the last seven meetings between the two sides, with neither team able to score in three of those.

The teams have met 38 times in total, with the Gills winning 17, drawing 13 and losing 8.
