Head coach Ady Pennock previews the final game of the season at Northampton Town
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Gills head coach Ady Pennock stressed that his side will be going all out for the three points in the final game of the Sky Bet League One season away at Northampton Town on Sunday.
The Gills can finish as high at sixteenth in the final table should results fall their way and Pennock stressed that his players are looking to end the season on a high.
Pennock on… relegation battle experience: “During the time I spent at AFC Bournemouth as a player, we picked up something silly like 13 points before Christmas and had to win our final game.
“In the last match of the season we scored three early goals in the first 25 minutes. If that happens on Sunday it would be lovely.
“There are other teams around us in the same position. We have to concentrate on ourselves, get over the line and go from there.
“We are going there to win the game of football.”
Pennock on… Northampton Town: “They are a good side with some very good individuals and they are safe, so they won’t be worrying about relegation.”
Pennock on… other results: “You will be able to tell by the crowd if Fleetwood or Port Vale score, or one of the other teams around us. Personally, I will let my staff do that and I will worry about the game as we have to win.”
