GILLINGHAM V CARLISLE UNITED

Emirates FA Cup Second Round

MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Saturday December 2

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Steve Lovell could be without both Josh Parker (knee) and Lee Martin (head) for the visit of Carlisle. Both players picked up injuries against Oldham last weekend, and although they have recovered well their fitness will be assessed up until the last minute.

Alex Lacey (ankle) is back in contention after coming through a friendly against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday, however Bradley Garmston (hamstring) will have to wait another few days.

Manager Comments:

Steve Lovell – “It's a one off game so we need to be disciplined and be organised. If we do what we have been doing of late we've got a chance.

“We need to be ready and plan for any kind of scenario.”

Previous Meetings:

The two clubs last met in February 2014 at Brunton Park when goals from on loan Joe Pigott and Cody McDonald gave the Gills all three points against the Cumbrians in a 2-1 win. Leon Legge had put the ball in his own net on ten minutes to give the hosts the lead.

The return fixture saw Gills win again, this time 1-0 thanks to a Danny Kedwell penalty.

The teams have met on 48 occasions with Gillingham winning 21 games to Carlisle’s 17.

Odds:

Gillingham win – 13/10

Draw – 5/2

Carlisle win – 19/10

Special: Josh Parker to score first in a 2-0 Gillingham win – 60/1.
