Second time lucky for Gills as they travel to Carlisle looking for a place in the third round of the cup.

CARLISLE UNITED V GILLINGHAM

Emirates FA Cup second round replay

Brunton Park

Tuesday December 19

Kick-Off, 745.

Team News:

Steve Lovell has no fresh injury or suspension concerns ahead of the trip to Carlisle on Tuesday evening. Conor Wilkinson is now 100% fit following a knee injury while Bradley Garmston (hamstring) is likely to feature.

Connor Ogilvie (illness) is back in contention after missing Saturday's game against Bristol Rovers.

As for Carlisle they will pick from the same squad that drew 1-1 at Priestfield earlier in the month.

Manager Comments:

Keith Curle – “The performance is massively important, and then the result will take care of itself.

"The message to the players is we need a reaction. And there's nothing better than an FA Cup [run] to change the fortunes of a football club."

Steve Lovell – “The boys are in confident mood; the result on Saturday has given us a lift and we’ll go to Carlisle looking to book a place in the next round. We know it won’t be easy, we will give Carlisle a lot of respect following their display at Priestfield but if we perform to our capabilities there is no reason why we can’t progress.”

Previous Meetings:

Prior to the initial fixture in this season’s FA Cup, the teams last met at Brunton Park in February 2014 when Cody McDonald’s late strike helped guide Gills to a 2-1 win in Cumbria with Joe Pigott, on loan from Charlton, scoring the opener on 44 minutes.

In total the teams have met on 49 occasions with Gills winning 21 times to Carlisle’s 17 victories.

Odds:

Carlisle win – 13/10

Draw – 5/2

Gills win – 15/8

Special: Tom Eaves to score first in a 3-2 Gills win – 90/1.
