TEAM NEWS
Left-back Bradley Garmston is unlikely to feature on Saturday after coming off injured in the 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon in midweek, while new signing Zesh Rehman is awaiting international clearance to be eligible for selection.

The Gills have lost just once in 10 home games, and will be looking to build on recent home draws with Port Vale, Chesterfield and AFC Wimbledon for the visit of the Shrimpers.

Bradley Dack put in a man-of-the-match performance against the Dons on Tuesday, topped off by a goal, and the midfielder believes the Gills will keep picking up points if they play like they did against the Wombles.

"We performed really well," said Dack. "We are at a point now where the performance does't matter as much, as the results. We have to start getting results, I think that is clear for everyone to see."

"It feels like a loss [the 1-1 draw against Wimbledon] because we played well and had the chances to win. We have to be more ruthless in both boxes [defence and attack]."

THE OPPOSITION
Phil Brown's United sit in fifth place in the Sky Bet League One table with 53 points from 33 games.

The Shrimpers are averaging two goals per game since the turn of the year, and come in the MEMS Priestfield Stadium clash on the back of a 4-1 victory at Peterborough United in midweek.

Ex-Gills Jermaine McGlashan and Frank Nouble are in contention to start for the visitors, as is top scorer Simon Cox. The Irishman has scored 11 goals in 38 appearances this campaign, including seven in his last 11 games.

LAST TIME WE MET
The two sides last Sky Bet League One meeting came on the opening day of the 2016/17 season, with the Gills coming back from 1-0 down at Roots Hall to win 3-1.

Goals from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Max Ehmer and Emmanuel Osadebe completed the comeback on a memorable day in Essex.

Three days later, Cody McDonald and an Emmanuel-Thomas double earned the Gills another 3-1 victory over the Shrimpers, this time in the EFL Cup first round.

The teams have met 110 times in total, with the Gills winning 44, drawing 28 and losing 38.
