Vote for your January Goal of the Month
There were some fantastic strikes duringJanuary 2017, and we have picked five for our Goal of the Month competition. Which was your favourite?
Here are this month’s nominees:
#GILLSGOTM1: Youth prospect Henry Woods had one thing in his mind when he picked up the ball 30 yards out against MK Dons' under-18s, and that was to go for goal. He didn't disappoint, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance with a strike into the top corner.
#GILLSGOTM2: Ryan Jackson, Bradley Dack and Scott Wagstaff were all involved in Josh Wright's equaliser at league leaders Sheffield United on January 21, with the latter providing the finish after clever interplay down the right from his team-mates.
#GILLSGOTM3: Darren Oldaker won the November Goal of the Month for a stunning strike against West Brom, but his late winner against Peterborough United's under-18s on January 24 was also one to remember.
#GILLSGOTM4: Deji Oshilaja is known for his tough-tackling and defending, but proved he can finish when Stuart Nelson's assist landed at his feet against Shrewsbury Town.
#GILLSGOTM5: Lee Martin is yet to play a competitive game for the Gills following a long-term injury sustained in pre-season, but the winger showed skill and class in the private friendly against Dagenham and Redbridge, beating two defenders before placing the ball in the far corner.
