Gills head coach Ady Pennock was proud of his team’s battling display at Bradford City on Saturday as they earned a valuable point.
The visitors drew 2-2 at the Northern Commercials Stadium, with Josh Wright and Deji Oshilaja scoring for the Gills either side of Charlie Wyke and Tony McMahon goals for the Bantams.
“It was unbelievable entertainment - I thought we were first class, I really did. Pennock on…the result:
“We came with a good game plan and we worked hard all week. I am disappointed with the goals but it was a fully deserved result today.”
“I enjoyed everything about it. As soon as we kicked off we played some decent football and carved them open a few times. Pennock on…the performance:
“They [Bradford] are a very good side who will be up there at the end of the season and they have a passionate crowd. It’s a fantastic place to play football with some very good players.
“We have come here today and started very well. We got the ball in good areas and played some good football. We thoroughly deserved the opening goal, but switched off 30 seconds later for their first.”
“I have been pleased with the last three games, because they are what we are all about. I don’t think we are too far away from that first win. Pennock on…the team’s progress:
“There is a lot of belief here. The togetherness is fantastic; not just the starting XI but the whole squad.
“They wore the shirt with pride today. I’m sure the fans are as proud of them as I am."
