GILLS SIGN SPURS DEFENDER

The 21-year-old, who agreed a new two-year contract at White Hart Lane earlier in the week, joins the Gills as they prepare for their first pre-season fixture against Faversham later today (7.30pm).

Ogilvie, a left back who can also play in the centre, is a former England U16 and U17 international and has enjoyed two separate loan spells at Stevenage over the past two years having come through Tottenham’s academy programme.

Last season he featured 18 times for the League Two club having already made 24 appearances for the Boro during the 2015/16 season, scoring one goal against Plymouth Argyle at the Lamex Stadium.

Connor said: “I can’t wait to get started to be honest, I’m looking forward to it and I want to be playing games regularly and hopefully I can get that here and push on.”

Ady Pennock added: “I’m really pleased to secure Connor’s signature. He’s got pedigree having come through the youth ranks at Tottenham and what is an added bonus for us is that he has experience of playing league Football.

“He can play in the centre or on the left so he certainly gives us options.”
