FUNDS RAISED FOR TAKE HEART MERCY MISSION

Chairman Paul Scally and fellow trustees John Simpson and Conal Austin were in attendance along with a number of other special guests, doctors and surgeons from the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London who visit Sri Lanka once a year to perform lifesaving heart operations on young children.

A selection of auction lots and raffle items were sold off to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going to the charity’s next mission which takes place later in the year.

The bidding became very competitive for certain lots, with two business flights to Colombo and a supercar experience both going for more than £1500.

A video presentation was shown to give people an insight as to how previous missions have been conducted before all three trustees took to the stage to show their appreciation and gratitude to all of those who have helped the charity to continue and grow.

Chairman Paul Scally said: “It was a fantastic evening and I’d like to thank absolutely everybody who attended, donated auction lots or helped organise the event.

“It’s always a special occasion when we come together for such an excellent cause and we now look forward to the next mission.”
