Preview: Blackpool v Gillingham

Max Ehmer missing for Gills trip to Blackpool.

BLACKPOOL V GILLINGHAM

Sky Bet League 1

Bloomfield Road

Tuesday November 21

Kick-off, 7.45

Team News:

Max Ehmer will be missing for the trip to Blackpool as he serves a one-match ban following his sending off at Walsall. Ben Nugent is likely to step in for him at centre-back.

Bradley Garmston (hamstring) could make the squad although it is likely that he and Alex Lacey (ankle) will not be risked until the weekend.

As for Blackpool, midfielder Jimmy Ryan could be fit as he recovers from a thigh injury but Clark Robertson (foot) and Mark Cullen (hamstring) miss out.

Manager Comments:

Steve Lovell – “It’s a long trip (to Blackpool) and there is no reason why we can’t perform like we did defensively against Walsall. If we mix that with the other two away games, where we created, then we could have another good result.

“On the road we have been impressive recently; the boys are confident and we’ll go up there with no fear.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met in January last year when a Jack Redshaw penalty was enough to clinch a 1-0 win for the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road. The reverse fixture, three months prior, saw Gills seal a 2-1 victory with Doug Loft and Bradley Dack on target.

In total the teams have met on 35 occasions with Blackpool having won 13 of those games. Gillingham have won 10.

Odds:

Blackpool win – 4/5

Draw – 13/5

Gills win – 16/5

Special bet: Sean Clare to score first in a 2-1 Gills win = 175/1.
