Meet the Gills former Chief Scout this weekend prior to the club's home game against Bury.
On Saturday November 11, prior to Gillingham’s first-team fixture against Bury at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, former Gillingham Chief Scout and Assistant Manager Ted Buxton will be signing copies of his autobiography, `My life in Football` in the club megastore.
Ted, also a former Chief Scout under Terry Venables for the England national side, worked under Keith Peacock during his time at Gills and, despite retiring, continues to scout for a number of league clubs.
He has worked alongside some of the greatest players and managers to be involved in Football including Paul Gascoigne, George Best, Sir Bobby Robson, Brian Clough, Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Shearer and Diego Maradona and certainly has a few stories to tell.
In his autobiography, which involves a foreword by Frank Lampard Junior and an introduction from Venables, Buxton goes over his entire career in the game but how things could have been so different.
On November 11 Ted will be in the club megastore between 1pm and 2.30pm where supporters can have their books signed and pictures taken with the man himself.
Fans can pre-order for a special one off price of £9.99, and you can download the pre-order form below. Ted will also be available to write a short personal message on the inside cover on the day.
“Ted Buxton is a real football man, a great character with experience of the game second to none. He has worked at all levels from the base of the pyramid to the top and his stories are a must read for any football lover.”
