Lee Martin (illness) could return for the trip to Southend after missing out on Thursday. Josh Parker (thigh) is back in contention after also sitting out the defeat to MK Dons.
Callum Reilly (hamstring) is unavailable but Alex Lacey is 100% fit after recovering from injury.
As for Southend, Michael Kightly and former Gills midfielder Josh Wright both came off the bench in the club’s previous game and could be drafted in, along with forward Theo Robinson. Harry Kyprianou is available again following his return from international duty with Cyprus. Goalkeeper Ted Smith (shoulder) and defender Rob Kiernan (knee) are both unavailable.
