Billy Bingham set to return as Gills make the long trip to Scunthorpe.
SCUNTHORPE UNITED V GILLINGHAM
Glanford Park
Sky Bet League 1
Saturday December 8, 2018
Kick-off, 3pm.
Team News:
Brandon Hanlan will miss Saturday’s game due to a hand injury. The Gills will also be missing midfielder Callum Reilly as he serves the second game of a three match suspension following his sending off at Hartlepool.
Barry Fuller (knock) was substituted against Slough in the FA Cup last week, but he will be available for selection. Billy Bingham is set to return after being left out of Sunday’s cup tie.
Other than that Steve Lovell has a full team to choose from.
As for Scunthorpe, James Perch will return following suspension.
Jordan Clarke (shoulder) is back in training but is doubtful, as is Funso Ojo (hamstring) who has resumed running.
Elsewhere, Matt Gilks (knee) and Rory Watson (arm) are unavailable while Ryan Colclough (knee) is out for the remainder of the season.
Manager Comments:
Steve Lovell – “They’ve got fight so it’s important that we go there and just continue doing what we’re doing. We are getting there slowly but gradually we’re getting to where we want to be and it’s a long season and we’re not half way through it yet so we‘ve got to make sure that over this Christmas period we put in the performances that deserve to get the points, and then we’ll see where we are.”
Stuart McCall - “It will be a challenge as all games are, but we’ve got to find a way to get the three points. We’ve done a lot of work this week on the training ground, though yet again we have a couple of lads missing who are major doubts, which is disappointing.
“We have to keep at it and show a spirit that will help us get back to where we want to be.”
