Nominations announced for January awards.
Steve Lovell and Tom Eaves have been nominated for the manager and player of the month awards for January.
The Gills boss guided the club to four straight victories which lifted Gillingham into the top half of the League 1 table and was the only manager in the division to record maximum points during the opening month of 2018.
Neal Ardley (AFC Wimbledon), Tony Mowbray (Blackburn Rovers) and Darrell Clarke (Bristol Rovers) are the other nominees.
On the player side, Eaves netted four goals during the month of January, bagging a brace against Fleetwood Town at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on January 27; his last minute penalty ensuring Gills clinched maximum points against the Cod Army in a 2-1 victory.
He also scored in the first half against Charlton Athletic on New Year’s Day and during the second half against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park on Saturday January 20.
The other nominees for the award are Semi Ajayi (Rotherham United), Danny Graham (Blackburn Rovers) and John-Joe O’Toole (Northampton Town).
Winners will be announced on Friday morning at 6am.
