NORTHAMPTON TOWN V GILLINGHAM
SIXFIELDS STADIUM
SKY BET LEAGUE 1
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 13
KICK OFF, 7:45PM
Team News:
After coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s draw against Peterborough, Scott Wagstaff (hamstring) will be in contention to start the game at Sixfields after a short spell out with injury.
Captain Lee Martin is expected to return to the squad after a calf issue kept him out of the Peterborough fixture.
The only other injury issue for the Gills is Alex Lacey (ankle) who faces at least another week on the sidelines. Aaron Morris and Billy Bingham remain out of action.
Northampton manager, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has admitted there a couple of players who are struggling with tight hamstrings ahead of the game. One of those is Shay Facey who missed out on the weekend’s action.
Hasselbaink added that his team selection will be based upon who has recovered best after Saturday’s win at AFC Wimbledon.
Manager Comments:
Steve Lovell - “It wasn’t our worst performance [in the reverse fixture] and they scored two really good goals, one from a free-kick and one from a great strike outside the box.
“We controlled that game and should’ve got something but it will be different going up there, they are on a good run.”
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - “We are at home and we want to take the game to the opposition.
"Gillingham have been going well and they will be a challenge for us but we will be looking to put in another performance like we did at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.”
