SHREWSBURY TOWN V GILLINGHAM
MONTGOMERY WATERS MEADOW
SKY BET LEAGUE ONE
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 20
KICK OFF, 7:45PM
Team News:
After missing the Walsall game with a foot injury, Captain Lee Martin could come back into contention after being left out at the weekend as a precaution.
Lovell also admitted that some of his players looked ‘leggy’ on Saturday which may pave the way for some changes with Scott Wagstaff and Conor Wilkinson pushing for a place in the starting 11. Alex Lacey (ankle) is due to be out for another 10 days.
Shrewsbury have been hit by illness across their squad with manager Paul Hurst confirming that four players had missed training because of it.
Manager Comments:
Steve Lovell- “I have players who I can play, I have different formations, we will look at how Shrewsbury set up against Rotherham and we will pick a team accordingly.”
Paul Hurst- “I don’t think it would be too unkind to say that at the start of the season they would have been one of the teams, like ourselves, that a lot of people would be looking at and perhaps wouldn’t be sure how many teams they would finish above, so it’s credit to them and ourselves that we are not talking about the wrong end of the table.”
Previous Meetings:
The Shrews won at Priestfield at the start of September as goals from Carlton Morris and Alex Rodman put them ahead. Despite Josh Parker pulling one goal back, the Gills failed to find an equaliser.
The last time Gillingham travelled to Shrewsbury they walked away 3-2 winners after going 2-0 down, a stoppage time Max Ehmer winner secured all three points for the Gills.
In total the sides have met 62 times with Shrewsbury having the better head to head record winning on 24 occasions. Gillingham have won 19 times with the two teams drawing 19 times.

Shrewsbury Town win - 5/6
Draw - 23/10
