A brace from Nasseri helps complete victory at Crabble.
Navid Nasseri bagged a brace as Gills clinched a comfortable 3-0 win over Dover Athletic at Crabble on Saturday afternoon.
Nasseri’s opener was a shot which came off former Gills defender Connor Essam before nestling in the back of the net, with Whites keeper Mitch Walker helpless to do anything about it.
Josh Parker had a couple of chances, one from a free-kick, to extend the lead but Dover ensured the half-time deficit stood at just one goal having also had an opportunity of their own to draw level.
Gills didn’t wait too long in the second half before doubling their lead; Mark Byrne driving to the byline on 53 minutes before dragging back a decent looking cross and Liam Nash was well placed to convert from just a few yards.
Nasseri made sure of victory not long afterwards with a 30-yard screamer which gave the Dover stopper absolutely no chance.
