Franck Moussa bags a brace as Gills win at Faversham.
Franck Moussa scored twice as Gillingham secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Faversham Town at the Shepherd Neame Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Moussa, who is back training at Priestfield, netted once in either half to ensure Gills took victory at Salters Lane. The midfielder was brought down inside the box just a few minutes into the game and he took the spot-kick himself, finding a way past Simon Overland.
Ashley Miller, a former striker at Gillingham, had chances to bring the scores level but was denied by the visiting keeper, who is on trial.
Ben Chapman and Moussa had opportunities to extend the advantage but had to make do with a 1-0 scoreline at the interval.
However that was soon added to in the second half when Moussa latched on to a well taken corner-kick, heading home from close range.
Bradley Stevenson nearly clinched a third goal but Faversham did well to deflect his effort away from danger. Miller continued to cause issues at the other end and sub keeper Louie Catherall made a great save to tip over as the forward looked to set up a tense finish, however the Gills youngsters who had taken to the pitch did well to hang on for victory.
