New skipper named.
The club are delighted to announce that Gabriel Zakuani will be Gillingham’s Captain for the 2018/19 season.
The centre-back signed a new two-year deal in the summer having made 43 appearances in his first campaign at Priestfield, and manager Steve Lovell has moved quickly to confirm that the defender will take the captaincy with Lee Martin having now left the club.
Lovell said: “Gabby is a leader, a winner and is a highly respected professional. Myself, the staff and the entire squad felt he was the right man to take on the captaincy and I know he will treat the added responsibility with pride.”
