O'Mara departs Gills after six years.
Finn O’Mara has today left Gillingham to join Folkestone Invicta on a permanent deal which runs until the end of the 2019/20 season.
Finn, who has had two previous loan spells at the Fullicks Stadium, spent over six years at Priestfield, starting his career with the club at the age of 13, making his professional debut for the Gills last season as a substitute, coming off the bench against Blackburn Rovers in a League 1 fixture at Ewood Park.
Three days later the centre-back started in the club’s 1-0 win over Colchester in the Checkatrade Trophy at the Weston Homes Community Stadium before making his full league debut the following weekend at home to Portsmouth, a game which was live on Sky Sports.
His final appearance came in the 7-5 win over Reading in the Checkatrade Trophy on November 7, 2017.
O'Mara is eligible to play for Folkestone at home tomorrow against Dorking.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Finn for his hard work, dedication and professionalism during his time at Priestfield and we wish him well for the future.
