List signs for Stevenage

Forward joins League 2 club.

Elliott List has signed for League Two side Stevenage.

The 22-year-old, who has featured in all four league games so far this season for Gills, could make his debut on Saturday against Macclesfield at the Lamex Stadium.

The winger arrived at the club from Crystal Palace in 2015 and has since made 102 appearances, scoring 10 goals.

Last season, the forward scored eight goals in 45 appearances – the most memorable coming against Cardiff City in the 1-0 FA Cup win at Priestfield in early January.

Manager Steve Evans said: “Listy goes with all our best wishes and I really want him to do well for Stevenage.

“As a manager at Gillingham in League 1 the budget must always be balanced and the transfer fee obviously greatly helps that.

“We spoke with each other openly and honestly about things such as game time. We both felt a move was appropriate to satisfy his desire to play regularly and the lad had a few options but has chosen to play ultimately for a good football club in Stevenage and a very respected Chairman in Phil Wallace.”

Gillingham FC would like to thank Elliott for his services while at Priestfield and we wish him well for the future.
