Striker moves on.
Tom Eaves has signed for Championship side Hull City on a three- year contract.
The 27-year-old striker, who has been Gills top scorer in the last two seasons, was offered a new contract in May but has decided to take a step up and join Grant McCann’s Hull who are currently in Marbella on a training camp.
Eaves netted 40 times in 97 appearances in all competitions during his time at ME7, scoring a brace in his final appearance for the club against Blackpool in the final game of last season as the Gills ran out convincing 3-0 winners at Bloomfield Road.
The forward signed for the Gills in the summer of 2017, penning a two-year contract after leaving Yeovil Town. He immediately adhered himself to the Priestfield faithful, scoring the winner in a 1-0 win over Charlton having already scored a hat-trick at home against Southend United.
In 2018/19 he scored a stunning goal against Portsmouth at Fratton Park, which was later voted `Goal of the Season,` converted a pressure penalty at Hartlepool in a first round FA Cup replay and helped clinch a point against Luton in an entertaining 2-2 draw against the league leaders at Kenilworth Road.
Prior to joining his new team-mates, Tom published a special message to the Gills fans which can be read below.
