Another new face arrives at ME7.
Gillingham have completed the signing of Watford striker Alex Jakubiak on a season-long loan deal.
The 22-year-old centre forward, who made his league debut for the Hornets in the Championship in May 2014, spent last season on loan with Bristol Rovers and scored five times in 44 appearances having also enjoyed a loan spell with Falkirk at the back end of the 2017/18 campaign, scoring seven goals in 18 outings.
Alex, a former Scottish U19 international, has also enjoyed spells at Fleetwood, Oxford, Dagenham and Wycombe Wanderers.
Gills boss Evans said: “Alex is a young man who I have seen many times, not only at Bristol Rovers against my own teams, but also for Watford’s U23s. He was a Scottish youth international, has good experience in League 1 and arrives here with a point to prove that he has a future with Watford at Vicarage Road. He is highly rated by Head Coach Javi Gracia and wants Alex to be tested further.
“Given the interest in the player and the number of options that he had in front of him this week from clubs in League 1, I would like to thank Watford Technical Director Filippo Giraldi for his assistance, along with Javi Gracia, for their assistance and allowing the player to join us.”
