Pre-season friendly off.
Today’s pre-season friendly against Stevenage has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
A pitch inspection took place at the Lamex Stadium at midday and it was determined the game should not take place.
The drainage systems at The Lamex Stadium have been partly closed off whilst work on the new North Stand drainage takes place and have been unable to cope with the extremely heavy overnight rain. With more forecast to fall throughout the course of the day, the only safe and sensible decision for everybody involved is to call the match off.
Gills will next play against Welling United at Park View Road on Monday.
