Steve Evans has revealed that Nathan Thomas has gone back to Bramall Lane.
The club can confirm that Nathan Thomas has returned to Sheffield United.
The winger joined the Gills earlier this month, however the former Plymouth man has gone back to Bramall Lane on compassionate grounds.
He featured on Saturday against Charlton Athletic but didn’t feature on Tuesday at Crabble, and is expected to re-join Carlisle United on loan.
Manager Steve Evans said: “His family were not in a good place in terms of being away from their relatives and close ones, especially with a young child. We have to listen, as a Manager you have a responsibility to your players. It's a decision we had to make and we wish him every success.
“My understanding is that he has an opportunity to go back to Carlisle, and they are good people. We would like to thank Sheffield United for their understanding.”
Gillingham FC would like to thank Nathan for his professionalism and we wish him well for the future.
