More games added to Gills July schedule.
Gillingham have finalised their pre-season programme with games against Stevenage and Welling United added to the schedule.
New Manager Steve Evans, as he stated last week, has made changes to the new season preparations.
The quality of opponent and intensity of the pre season match programme has also been strategically upgraded. Matches against Charlton Athletic and Stevenage have been added to the programme.
He said: "It is my responsibility to make sure all the players are match fit, sharp and ready to start the season. I have purposely added two excellent and tough opponents. Further, I have gone with double fixtures over two weekends so that again all the players have a real chance to get themselves selected for our opening day fixture.
"I gave no promises to anyone about being selected, playing for the Gills needs to be earned".
Gills game against Faversham, initially scheduled for Tuesday July 9, has been brought forward three days. Welling United will welcome Gills to Park View Road on Monday July 29.
