Gillingham will play Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the opening round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup.
The draw was made on Monday evening on BBC Two by Karen Carney and former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford.
The draw will see Gills make the long journey north to take on a side who have recently appointed Phil Parkinson as their new manager.
Fixtures are to be played over the weekend of November 8-11.
