Former Glasgow Rangers defender has returned to the SPL on loan.
Lee Hodson has signed for Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academical on a season-long loan deal.
The 28-year-old right-back, who signed for the Gills last summer from Glasgow Rangers, returns to Scotland having enjoyed a loan spell at St. Mirren last season.
He had another year on his contract to run at MEMS Priestfield Stadium but was told by the management he was free to join another club if he so wished.
During the 2019/20 season Lee made 12 appearances for the Gills before enjoying another ten with St. Mirren before the campaign was curtailed early.
He began his youth career with both Boreham Wood and Watford, making his professional debut for the Hornets in May 2009.
A loan spell at Brentford was followed up with a permanent move to MK Dons in the summer of 2013; he made 51 appearances for the club prior to a loan spell with Kilmarnock. Glasgow Rangers came calling in July 2016 and Lee agreed a three-year contract, making 27 appearances in total.
A loan spell with St. Mirren in 2018 lasted until early 2019, and at the end of his contract at Ibrox he joined the Gills.
Everyone at Gillingham FC wishes Lee the very best of luck for the season ahead.
