John Akinde is among the nominees for the PFA League 1 player of the month award for January.
The 30-year-old striker signed for the Gills prior to the club’s game against Rochdale on January 24, having already featured four times for Lincoln during the same month, scoring twice against Bolton at Sincil Bank in a 5-1 victory.
He started Gills 2-2 draw at Spotland before making his home debut four days later against Shrewsbury, a game the hosts won 2-0 thanks to goals from Olly Lee and Stuart O’Keefe.
